Topic : Teaching Others How to Communicate Through Obstacles in a Misinformation & Disinformation World
Dr. Jenny Grant Rankin is a Mensa member with two doctorates, including a PhD in Education. She has served as a Fulbright Specialist for the U.S. Department of State and has taught at prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and Columbia University. Dr. Rankin frequently presents to educators, scientists, and federal agents and has authored 14 books for educators. She also writes an education-focused column for Psychology Today. Recognized multiple times by the U.S. White House for her dedication to students, she was once honored with the American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol Building in her name. Dr. Rankin is deeply committed to advancing knowledge dissemination that overcomes obstacles.

Professor Eman Gaad

Keynote & Session Chair
Professor Eman Gaad is the Dean of the Faculty of Education and a Professor of Special and Inclusive Education at the British University in Dubai (BUiD). She is also an Affiliate Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, UK. Professor Gaad led BUiD’s special and inclusive Masters programme for many years and currently leads the Doctoral Programme. In 2022 she became a Goodwill Ambassador for Bangladesh. She has established herself as a world-class researcher, advocate, international social development consultant and expert in the field.
Additionally, Professor Gaad is a regular invited keynote speaker, certified assessor, and a professional social trainer. Over the last 25 years she has become a frequent national and international media figure on hundreds of live on-air radio and TV programmes, as well as writing and appearing in hundreds of articles published in local and regional newspapers. Professor Gaad is a sound academic, an External PhD Examiner for reputed universities around the world (UK, Australia, Canada and India) and is a recognized international scholar in the field of special and Inclusive Education as well as social development. She has also secured millions of AEDs in research funding from the government of the UAE to examine the field. She co-founded one of the largest NGOs in the UAE, the Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA), where she also acts as a Senior Educational Consultant. Professor Gaad is one of the governors of the regionally outstanding Dubai College, and on the Board of Directors of several nonprofit organizations in the UAE. She has advised policy and decision makers as a senior consultant for both governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi on disability related issues. She is also a winner of HH Princess Haya Award for Special Education in the category of best-distinguished individual research in 2012, and in the same year was awarded the Global Leadership in Education Award from the Asian Leadership Award Board. For her services as an international leader in education, in 2017 she was awarded the ‘Prof. Idira Parikh 50 Women in Education Leaders’ which is an international award from the World Education Congress in India. In 2020 she was awarded yet another international award (Asian Pacific Down Syndrome Federation Excellence Award).

Dr. Olga Gould has earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction & the Science of Learning from the State University of New York, University at Buffalo, USA. Prior to that, she earned her M.Ed. from Florida Atlantic University, USA. Dr. Gould initially had her Dual Bachelor’s and Dual Master’s degrees in Teaching ESOL and foreign Languages. This Florida State Certified Educator (2008 – 2028) has had her life-long K-12 & university/college teaching experiences in the United States and Internationally. Dr. Moyasar Al Mershed is a third-year Ph.D. student at Malaya University in Kuala Lumpur, in educational leadership. I hold a Master's in Educational Administration with distinction. Currently, I am working as a Course Instructor at HBMSU. I am conducting training courses on emotional intelligence, effective communication, and charisma. I participated in the RewirED2021 summit (Global Education Summit / Expo Dubai) and the National Ambassadors Program - Estedad2021.
Dr. Perizat Yelzhanova
Dr. Perizat Yelzhanova is a Kazakh materials writer and a PhD in English Language Education. She has been awarded the “Best Author” and “Best English Teacher” in Kazakhstan. Dr. Perizat Yelzhanova is the author of the book “A Key to Success” for Elementary Students and a publisher of several scientific articles and is certified with numerous teacher training courses.
Dr. Mahmoud Hajjar
Dr. Mahmoud Hajjar earned his PhD in Linguistics from the University of Essex, the UK. Currently, he is Associate Professor at Hamdan Bin Mohammad Smart University in Dubai, the UAE. Dr Hajjar is a prolific researcher with interests in first and second language acquisition, as well as motivation and identity in language learning. Dr. Hajjar is the author of the book titled ‘EFL Learners' Acquisition of the English Article System: A Comparative Study’, published by Cambridge Scholars, the UK.
Doni Wahyu Prabowo
Doni Wahyu Prabowo is a student in the department of master of science education at Universitas Sebelas Maret with a full scholarship from LPDP of the Republic of Indonesia. He has an interest in science reasoning and ethnoscience research in education.
Abdelaziz Ouchaib
Abdelaziz Ouchaib is a high-school teacher of English. He holds a master's degree in Applied Language Studies from the School of Arts and Humanities at Moulay Ismail University in Meknes, Morocco. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the same university. His primary interests include Language Planning and Policy, TEFL, and Discourse Analysis. His current research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of higher education reforms in Morocco.
Fathma Zahara Sholeha
Fathma Zahara Sholeha is a researcher and lecturer at the Islamic Institute of Riyadlotul Mujahidin in Indonesia, and a teacher at the Wali Songo Ngabar Islamic Boarding School. Her research interests include Arabic teaching, with a recent focus on psycholinguistics, particularly in early childhood language acquisition.
Prof (Deon) van Tonder
Prof. Gideon P van Tonder, currently serving as an Associate Professor at North-West University, South Africa, has established a notable reputation in the field of Self-Directed Professional Development for Teachers. He plays a vital role in the Research Unit for Self-Directed Learning at the university's Faculty of Education. Van Tonder's academic journey includes degrees such as a BCom, HED, BTech in Education Management, MEd in Education Management, and a PhD in the same field. He has made substantial contributions to the academic world, notably through his extensive publications in prestigious international journals on education management, critical thinking, metacognition, and teacher professional development. Since 2015, van Tonder has published various chapters for reputable publishers like Van Schaik and AOSIS. His efforts at NWU are marked by initiatives to strengthen research skills among faculty and to foster self-directed learning competencies in pre-service teachers, employing innovative pedagogical methods. Van Tonder's commitment extends beyond academia into community engagement, particularly through projects. One project is dedicated to embedding entrepreneurship education in all school subjects and educational levels in South Africa by 2030. Van Tonder's dedication to research is further highlighted by his successful supervision of numerous master’s and PhD candidates. His passion and excellence in teaching were recognised in 2019 when he was awarded the NWU Teaching Excellence Award and the prestigious Distinguished Teaching Excellence Award.
Amira Aljahwari
Amira Aljahwari, an English Language Teacher at Alkhabourah Vocational College, is an educator with a Bachelor's degree from Sultan Qaboos University. With two years of teaching experience, she holds a CELTA certification and has shared her expertise through numerous workshops across institutions in Oman. Dr. Raed Mualem
Dr. Raed Mualem, was born to a Christian family living in Nazareth, Israel. He is an educational administrator, he completed his undergraduate studies in biology. He also holds master’s degrees in science, educational leadership, management, and health administration, along with a doctoral degree in life science - all awarded by Tel Aviv University.
He is committed to education for all and he acts to support equality in education and accessibility for higher education and connect the local, with the global. He also aims to increase awareness regarding the impact of our nutrition on our brain development, the cognitive and human behavior. He aims to build a better, healthier future for people all over the world.
Dr. Eman Faisal
Dr. Eman Faisal is an assistant professor at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education,
King Saud University. She has a Ph.D. in Research Design and Methodology in addition to three Master’s
degrees in Research Design and Methodology and in Education. She had worked in academia since
2007. She has a number of awards; and she published articles and presented papers at conferences.
Ms. Sandra Kroeker
Sandra Kroeker is a trans disciplinary researcher at Brock University with a BA (Hons) in Psychology (Brock University), an MA in Gender Studies (McMaster University), an MA in Social Justice and Equity Studies (Brock University), and is now a Ph.D. Candidate in the Child and Youth Studies department at Brock University. They enjoy complicating the social sciences with Philosophy and research in Quantum Physics. Sandra’s research involves the breaking down of binaristic thinking and resolving dualisms such as Cartesian Dualism/Reason and emotion, Male and female, Love & Work, Quantum Realm & Material Realm, Whole ‘vs’ Separate, Equality ‘vs’ Ontological Dissimilarity, Linear ‘vs’ Non-linear, Infinity ‘vs’ Finite, Organismic & Mechanistic Worldviews, and is now looking at resolving the dualism of Qualitative & Quantitative in Dubai. Sandra believes that resolving the problems of the world, disperse power, and end inequality, it can only be done if we move away from thinking in binaries. She has presented around Canada and the world virtually in British Colombia, Canada, Portugal, and the Czech Republic, and in person in Finland, Greece, and Toronto Canada.
